A clear pathway for your next learning step
Online Quran Recitation and Tajweed Course
Our online Tajweed course connects the rules of recitation with the passages you actually read. Beginners can work on Arabic letters and vowel sounds, while learners who already read the Quran can focus on articulation, elongation and stopping.

Who this course is for
This pathway suits learners beginning Quran recitation and readers who want to correct recurring Tajweed mistakes. Your current reading ability helps determine where to begin. If recognising connected Arabic letters is still difficult, Arabic for Reading provides a useful foundation.
What you will practise
- Recognise Arabic letter sounds and practise their articulation.
- Apply selected Tajweed rules while reading connected passages.
- Notice recurring errors and use corrections in later practice.
Learning with a clear purpose
A rule becomes useful when you can recognise where it applies and use it consistently. The course moves between explanation, listening and your own recitation, so corrections relate to specific sounds and passages rather than a general instruction to read more beautifully.
Course curriculum
What the course covers
01
Letters, vowels and articulation
Begin with the Arabic alphabet, distinguish similar sounds and practise short and long vowels. Reading exercises connect individual letters to words, with attention to how each sound is formed.
02
Applying core Tajweed rules
Study elongation (Madd), assimilation (Idgham) and other rules appropriate to your level. Work on recognising a rule in a passage before applying it during recitation.
03
Connected recitation and stopping
Practise longer passages with attention to appropriate stopping (waqf), continuity and accurate pronunciation. Review earlier corrections alongside new work, so fluency develops with accuracy.
Practice between lessons
A useful practice sequence is to read a short passage, identify one or two corrections, repeat the corrected sounds and then reread the passage. Keep a brief record of the rules you are practising between lessons; the goal is consistent application rather than speed.
Frequently asked questions
Do I need to know Arabic before starting?
You do not need conversational Arabic. Your familiarity with the alphabet and connected letters determines whether you begin with reading foundations or Tajweed application.
Is Tajweed the same as Quran memorization?
Tajweed concerns how you recite. Memorization concerns retaining and recalling passages. The two support each other, but this course focuses on recitation accuracy.
How quickly can I improve?
Progress depends on your starting point, the corrections needed and regular practice. Discuss a realistic focus for your lessons during the free trial.
